Social Equality for India (SEFI) was comprised of two segments: workshops and campaigning. The workshop segment included establishing a two-week program which will feature interactive sessions highlighting the negative aspects of the caste system and other divisive factors which deter India’s progress as a country. The workshop also included a week of activities and scenarios which reinforced the information learned from the previous session and that encouraged collaboration between teens of different castes and socio-economic backgrounds. With this program we hoped to promote a more unified nation by offering an environment with fewer barriers to the collaboration of Indians. The second segment of SEFI involved an awareness campaign–concentrated on the caste system—which targeted a wide, inclusive audience. With these two endeavors, our goal for SEFI is to raise awareness of the detriments of the caste system and promote a more unified India.
Workshops in Schools
We are attempting to integrate the notion of social equality to education in schools. Our plan is to set up workshops in schools that teach how vital unity is for the progression of India.
Campaign Ad
We’re aiming for a nation-wide campaign to help attract citizens and bring attention to the untouchability and caste system issues. With the support of the residents of India, we hope to make a campaign that’s accessible for everyone to take part in.
